In this lockdown, it has been encouraging to see exercise mentioned and prioritised as a reason to leave the house.
From 5 January 2021, you can exercise by in a public outdoor place:
- by yourself
- with the people you live with
- with your support bubble (if you're legally permitted to form one)
- in a childcare bubble when providing childcare
- or, when on your own, with one person from another household (going for a walk with someone counts as exercise)
You can also use outdoor public spaces which include:
- parks, beaches, forests and and the countryside
- public gardens
- the grounds of a heritage site
- outdoor playgrounds.
Organised outdoor sport for disabled people will continue during this time.
Leisure and sports facilities will be closed and organised community sport is also not allowed. This takes away important spaces and opportunities to stay active. We hope this information supports you and your activity during this lockdown and beyond it.
