'We can move' is a movement of people committed to helping not only themselves to be more active, but others too.
Join we can move and our approach to being physically active.
We’re people, influencers and leaders across our communities. Collectively, working together to take action and encourage more people to lead more active and healthier lives.
We believe we're stronger together and that everyone has something to offer. What part will you play?
We believe that active people need an active world to live in. We can't keep doing the same things and hope they will help everyone. Traditional health campaigns encourage us to be more active, but there is little evidence that they work. Increasing sport is more likely to help those of us who are better off and already somewhat active, leaving the rest of us further behind. We have to think differently.
We need local support groups, opportunities to be active, better designed towns and health services that help us to get moving, and workplaces that don’t force us to sit all day. Most of all, it means working out together what needs to change and making it happen, so physical activity becomes a normal part of everyday life.
We know people all over Gloucestershire are making small everyday changes and tackling big challenges to get more physically active. Your story can be an inspiration to others. When we hear from others – people like us – it can move us to action. Get in touch and share your story, however much or little you'd like.
