Gloucester Rugby wanted to do more to support their local community and wanted to shape a new preventative and support programme working with men in Gloucester who may have experienced poor mental health. Nearly 20% of adult patients in Gloucester have a recorded diagnosis of depression (higher than the national average) and in reality, this number will be higher as it is understood that men are less likely to visit a doctor and therefore not included within these figures.

Working with their charitable arm – the Gloucester Rugby Foundation, the we can move model is being used to develop their ‘into touch’ project designed to tackle men’s mental health.

The development of this programme is underway first looking at the data with a we can move facilitator and bringing together lots of local partners to run a system and asset mapping session.
