Explore Your Town Your Way with the Big Summer Stroll and Roll
Explore your local town with the Cityscapes and Town Trails theme.
Active Gloucestershire and the we can move network are excited to launch the second phase of their inclusive movement campaign: Cityscapes and Town Trails, part of the wider Big Summer Stroll and Roll campaign which kicked off earlier this month.
Running throughout July, this phase invites residents across Gloucestershire to explore their local town or city centre on foot or wheels, embracing the joy and freedom of moving outdoors.
From Cheltenham’s leafy parks, to Tewkesbury’s historic streets, and Stroud’s canal-side trails, this phase shines a spotlight on easy-to-access urban adventures. There are a variety of routes to explore, with many routes being fully accessibility for those with limited ability. The routes are also in close proximity to public transport, and connection to local culture and amenities.
“Whether you’re discovering new corners of your city or enjoying a peaceful lunchtime stroll, Cityscapes and Town Trails is about celebrating movement in everyday places,” said Lizzie Homer, Head of Communications at Active Gloucestershire. “Everyone should feel welcome and safe exploring where they live.”
Residents can explore curated routes, find travel tips, and access safety advice via the campaign hub:
