The We Can Move Event 2026: Working Together Through Change
About the Event
Change is something we all live with. By approaching it together, we can turn uncertainty into shared action and stronger partnerships, creating steadier ground for the work we all care about.
The We Can Move 2026 event, which took place on 3 June 2026, brought partners from across Gloucestershire together for a day of inspiration, connection and shared purpose. It created space to pause, reflect on why we do this work and strengthen the relationships that power this county-wide movement.
Across the day, attendees heard from a range of speakers who offered fresh perspectives and sparked new thinking. Participants engaged in a mix of practical workshops and energising sessions, as well as exploring the Innovation and Skills area, where tools, ideas and approaches were shared to support everyday practice.
Just as importantly, the day made time for conversation. The room was full of energy, with new connections being formed and existing relationships renewed. There was a real buzz throughout the event, reflecting a strong appetite and passion across the county to support people to move more.
Meg did a fantastic job as compere, weaving together the themes of the day and helping to create a shared sense of direction and momentum. Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the value of coming together as a movement and the power of collective ambition.
We Can Move 2026 reaffirmed that Gloucestershire is full of people who care deeply about creating active, healthy and connected communities—and that when those people come together, things move.
What happens next
The focus now is on building on this momentum. Together, partners will continue working as a movement to make being active every day the norm across Gloucestershire—no matter your age, ability or background.
This next phase comes at a time of significant change within the county, including local government reorganisation and the merging of the Integrated Care Board. By staying connected and aligned, the We Can Move partnership will continue to navigate these changes and ensure that physical activity remains a key part of improving lives across the county.
The conversation doesn’t end here. You can continue to explore ideas, reflections and resources from the day through the event Padlet and across our website.
Together, we will keep building a county where moving more is part of everyday life—for everyone.
