Gloucester is located in the south-eastern part of Gloucestershire, England. It is situated approximately 30 miles (48 km) east of the Severn estuary and around 10 miles (16 km) north of the Forest of Dean. Positioned at the meeting of the River Severn and the River Leadon, Gloucester serves as the county city of Gloucestershire and is known for its historic architecture, including the Gloucester Cathedral, and its role as a significant transport and commercial hub in the region.
