Street Tag Season 2 is coming to Gloucester and we are turning your neighbourhood into a virtual playground. We encourage staff, children, parents, carers, and extended family to be physically active by walking, running, cycling and rolling in their wheelchairs to earn rewards and foster a healthier lifestyle.

Street Tag Season two is officially launching in Gloucester on 11 February 2025, and we’re calling on all residents to join the fun. Whether you’re walking, running, cycling, or rolling, this exciting, interactive game is back to help you stay active, explore your community, and win fantastic prizes!
Following an incredible first season, we want to say a massive thank you and well done to everyone who participated. Together, we covered a total of 48,648 miles! That’s 40+ million steps in under two months! But Street Tag is set to make an even bigger impact in Season two. Active Gloucestershire is thrilled to bring back this innovative physical activity initiative, designed to inspire individuals and families to move more while engaging with their surroundings in a brand-new way.
What is Street Tag?
Street Tag is a free app-based game that transforms Gloucester into an interactive adventure. Players, either solo or in teams of up to six, earn points by scanning virtual tags placed throughout the city. Every step you take—whether it’s on foot, by bike, in a wheelchair, or on a scooter—helps you climb the leaderboard and unlock amazing rewards!
Why Join Street Tag Season 2?
Street Tag isn’t just about competition—it’s about building a healthier, more active Gloucester. This project aims to break barriers to physical activity, such as transport, safety concerns, cost, and confidence, making movement more accessible, engaging, and fun for everyone.

Tom Beasley, CEO at Active Gloucestershire, said “It’s exciting to welcome Street Tag back again for another season and to build on the success of 2024 where players covered a cumulative distance of 49,000 miles! This time we want to reach even more people, and it would be wonderful to see more teams taking part from across the City”.
Matt Williams, Project Lead at Active Gloucestershire, added “Following the success of Street tag season one, it is really exciting to be working with local partners and schools around the city again, to encourage people to move more, connect better and become more active.
“It was great to see and hear local people get out and about, finding new places to visit and being proud with what Gloucester has to offer in such a fun way.
“We hope this season will be just as successful as the first, especially when we have so many local community hubs, groups and schools involved this time around. We also have brand new in-house challenges like Maths Whizz, Trailfinder and 30 tags a week prize draw to encourage more residents to join in.
So get out, get moving and be pleasantly surprised with the amazing people and places Gloucester has to offer!”
