Now more than ever is there a need to encourage, inspire and support people to consider being active in a way that is important to them.
Whilst it can feel daunting approaching health conditions, by taking time to understand the ‘person’, you do not necessarily need specialised knowledge of a person’s long-term health condition to positively impact upon their experience.
Sometimes it can be helpful to have more in depth knowledge or training, but we need more people in the health, fitness and community activity space to join together in creating more opportunities for people living with long-term conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, frailty and dementia, respiratory disease or neurological conditions.
We have an exciting opportunity for exercise and activity professionals based in Gloucestershire to connect with local community groups and organisations that support people living with long term health conditions. If you are keen to develop your confidence, skills and knowledge around supporting people living with long term health conditions to be physically active, then what better way than to connect with people in their own communities. If you would like to express your interest in this kind of learning opportunity, use this form to tell us a little bit about yourself and we’ll keep you up to date with this project as it progresses.
Check out our network and join to meet a diverse range or people, groups and professionals from around the county.
Whether you’re experienced or new to delivering to those with long-term health conditions we’d love to hear about positive impact you have made.
